Through continuous growth and increasing demand, 2020 marked a major milestone with the expansion of our commercial division into a newly acquired 20,000-square-foot facility. This investment allowed us to better serve our clients, take on larger projects, and continue building long-term partnerships across the region.
In 2022, we celebrated the well-earned retirement of Charleen Presley, whose leadership and vision helped shape the heart of our company. That same year, Lisa Presley stepped into the role of Chief Operating Officer, bringing fresh energy and strategic insight while honoring the legacy of excellence that defines our family business.

History of Presleys Glass
Presleys Glass is a family owned and operated business which started in February 1994. The building and property on Thornton Street were purchased from a friend. At that time my son, Kirk, was looking for a job so I hired him to help me with the glass business. I had been Co-owner of a glass business in Washington, MO and Kirk worked for a glass business in St. Louis. In December of 1994 the business was incorporated as an S Corporation: Presleys Glass Inc.
On February 8, 1995 we were honored to receive the 1994 Excellence in Business Award from the Small Business Development Centers at a banquet in Jefferson City. We were among 10 businesses in the entire state of Missouri to receive this award. We also received a Resolution from the Secretary of State.
Presleys Glass had a slow but steady growth for several years. In 1997 Lisa Presley, Kirk’s wife was hired to help in the office and later that year another son, Rick, was hired. This was perfect timing since Kirk was told he needed a kidney transplant that same year. Extensive tests showed I was a match for the transplant. On July 15, 1997, I had the privilege of donating one of my kidneys to Kirk. Rick, Lisa and one employee kept the business running during the four weeks while Kirk and I recovered from surgery.
The business started to grow at a faster pace especially with commercial work until we were out of space. In 2004 an addition was built on the back and east sides of the existing building which doubled the size of our building and added more room for commercial glass and new office space. The addition also increased the visibility of our business from I-44.
Charleen Presley, President, works on Business Growth, Public Relations and Management. This year I had the privilege of participating in an Emerging Leaders class on Business & Finance through the SBA at Webster University. It was very instrumental in learning how to grow our business. Kirk is in charge of the Commercial Glass part of the business which is steadily growing and Rick is in charge of the Residential part of the business. Glass shower doors and glass shower enclosures have become very popular and keep Rick busy. As the business has grown, so has the need for more employees with a total of 28 employees.
Five family members are part of the business; Charleen Presley, Kirk Presley, Rick Presley, Lisa Presley (Office Manager) & Faith Presley (Secretary). Each one has their own unique gifts and talents to enhance different aspects of the business.
